The Little Green Cafe opens doors on Museum Road

This organic cafe serves healthy bites, brews and guilt-free desserts

Images of dishes on Instagram with hashtags #eatclean #eathealthy have been alluring foodies across the globe. Even Bengaluru is witnessing a sudden spurt in the number of ‘health’ cafes. The newest entrant into the green army is the Little Green Cafe on Museum Road.
Little Green Cafe (a proactive Instagrammer, we’re told), is from the team behind Green Theory. The place has pulled out all the stops at cutting down its carbon footprint. A note on the table specifies that the cafe uses only 60-watt LED bulbs, and  has used chemical-free paints and upcycled teak wood for the interiors.

Bakes and broths
We started our elaborate meal with Mushroom Cappuccino from the soup section. This one has nothing to do with coffee, apart from the foam and froth. The rich and creamy texture enhances the flavour of the mushrooms.

Next, from the long list of appetisers, we chose the Semolina waffles with mint chutney and tomato relish. The heart-shaped waffles seemed to have been made with much love. Stuffed with corn and capsicum, these freshly baked waffles paired excellently with both the mint chutney and the tomato relish (salsa). A must-try on a rainy afternoon.

God’s own choice
For main course, we chose the peculiar combination of Thai curry (green) with semi-polished Kerala rice. The Thai Curry was comforting with its fusion of spicy and slightly sweet flavours. We also opted for the Raw papaya and soba noodles salad with Som Tum dressing.
The medley of hot and tangy notes added a hint of drama to our meal. Watch out for bits of bird’s eye chilli! In dire need of something sweet, we asked for the Chocolate mousse with granola.

A scoop of mousse made with dark chocolate and yoghurt (instead of cream) is placed on a bed of granola and topped with meringue and dusted with chocolate. This one too was impressive.
What makes the Little Garden Cafe worth a visit is their unpretentiousness. Right from the ambiance and food to the service, they put their best foot forward.
